Decades of addressing food insecurity have shown us what real poverty, hunger and isolation look like.
They are hard to measure, as they cannot be evaluated in facts and figures. They have long-term effects on people’s ability to function emotionally, socially and physically.
Since 2000, Meir Panim’s network of Free Restaurants have been welcoming people of all denominations and affiliations, without discrimination between religion, gender, race or creed.
Meals are served in a warm, restaurant-like atmosphere, ensuring that people’ dignity and autonomy remain intact.
To address the various challenges encountered by our patrons, we operate a variety of programs:
- Grocery Shopping Card Distribution
- Meals for Children
- Moeal on Wheels
- After School Clubs for children and teens
- The ‘Power of Giving’ Project
- Special Food Packages prior to Holidays
Meir Panim promotes values of communal support and cooperation, forming a communal platform that connects those who love to give – with those who are in desperate need of receiving.
Our programs run in collaboration with the social welfare departments and professional entities
Meir Panim conducts itself in full transparency to ensure that every donation will reach those who truly need it.
